The BRANDED Collective works with survivors of human trafficking from Nashville-based non-profit End SlaveryTennessee. BRANDED is an economic empowerment jobs program in which the women collaborate with local artisans to design and hand-craft the jewelry collection. Many victims of human trafficking are branded; their captors physically mark them with a number or symbol. The process is often violent: a forced tattoo, a burn or knife cut. When you receive your item from the BRANDED Collective, IT is BRANDED too. Each piece contains a unique number that represents one of the millions trapped in the nightmare of trafficking. Together we can wear the story, share the story, and change the story. Each piece is marked with the initial of the women who made your cuff; you can find her story and share your own at voices at brandedcollective.com
Polishing technique: Fill a bowl with lemon juice and add a dash of sea salt. Using a cotton ball or paper towel rub your cuff with the lemon juice and sea salt mix. Rinse your shiny new cuff with water and dry with a paper towel.
